Licensed clinician F.A.Q.

What positions are available for therapists?

Joon Care offers contract positions (1099) to clinicians who are licensed by a state board to provide mental health counseling services (LMHC, LMFT, LCSW/LICSW, LPC, LPCC, PsyD, PhD, or similar).

How is client billing managed?

Joon’s dedicated operations team handles all billing and administrative tasks, so you can focus on what you do best - providing high quality care to your clients.

What does Joon pay therapists?

Therapists are paid an hourly rate depending on licensure and experience. For more information on compensation, please submit an application and our team will reach out to you to schedule a call. Or you can schedule a call with our Therapist Relations Manager. And unlike many other teletherapy companies, Joon therapists are paid for training and group consultation in addition to your clinical hours.

Is there a fee to use your platform?

Joon’s proprietary therapist and client applications streamline planning and implementing evidence-based treatment. There is no fee to use our platform as a contract clinician.

Does Joon accept insurance?

Currently we offer only a private pay option, however our rates are very competitive, and we provide all the documentation necessary for clients to seek insurance reimbursement. Our operations team manages all billing - you will never be responsible for submitting claims.

Is your teletherapy platform secure?

Yes. Unlike video conferencing platforms like Zoom, where video is processed and, in some cases, saved in a data center, Joon's teletherapy sessions are encrypted end-to-end between the client and the therapist. Only the therapist and the client are able to access the video. Video of teletherapy sessions is not saved or stored by Joon.

How do you ensure the privacy and security of client information?

Joon encrypts all sensitive data that is passed across the internet and stored in our databases. In addition, we have access controls that limit access to client data to those who need to know including their therapist, our clinical leadership team that supervises care and, on a more limited basis, our operations team for support with, for example, billing and appointment scheduling. Associate clinician F.A.Q.

Does Joon Care contract with unlicensed/associate-licensed therapists? What happens when I’m licensed?

Under some circumstances, and pending your plans for licensure, we may offer contract clinician positions (1099) to associate licensed clinicians. If you stay on at Joon after getting licensed, your hourly rate will increase, and you will be compensated for consult group attendance.

Do I need to receive supervision at Joon every week? Is there a fee?

As an unlicensed clinician, your clients are required to be under the care of a licensed clinician. Joon’s clinical leadership will monitor your caseload and ensure that all clients are receiving our standard of care. This is a legal and ethical requirement: you must attend supervision every week. There is NO FEE for this supervision. External supervision for Joon clients is not allowed.

Can I "count" my hours at Joon as SPE (supervised professional experience toward licensure)?

You may be able to count your hours at Joon as SPE, but please consult the psychology board website for the state in which you hope to get licensed. Currently, we do not provide individual supervision plans or supervision documentation for state boards. Joon does not authorize having a separate for-fee supervisory relationship with a licensed Joon clinician outside of the CSCG group.
